Morten J Wallin

I was born in Oslo, Norway in 1958. At an early age I started playing baritone/euphonium in the local school band. When I was old enough I started playing in a local community concert band. After playing for many years and often playing “cue-notes” for the bassoon I decided to try to play the bassoon. I’ve been playing the bassoon in several concert bands ever since. The euphonium is still in use but that’s mainly in the summer months. The marching season.

I have conducted several school bands here in Oslo. Working with kids and music was an ideal combination. To see they shine at concerts and competitions was priceless.

Composing music is something I have done for many years. During my years in these school bands I did many arrangements of popular melodies. Many of my compositions are not only scored for concert band but also for brass band and fanfare. The grade level on my pieces is between 2 and 4.

If someone wants to commission a piece from me I will need some vital info first. The occasion, the deadline, the grade level and instrumentation.
